San Diego Comic Con SURVIVAL GUIDE
July 18th 2009 00:33
So next week is the great San Diego Comic Con!!!
Its the 40th anniversary of the convention and yours truly will be in attendance, along with Co-Writer Wolverine and two other associates.
We will be trying to live blog as much as possible rad things we see, but WiFi is iffy in the convention center and blogging on a HTC tyttn 3 is very difficult.
So kicking off this week of awesomeness i'm going to excite you with the BEST DAMN SURVIVAL GUIDE ever.
I like to think of myself as a veteran convention goer, this will be my fifth year, and I finally think I got things nailed down.
First off, if you are coming into San Diego from another state, make sure to double check all your reservations for lodging at least 2 days in advanced. Most hotels and such don't fine you if you change anything at least 2 in advanced. And this way you can check to make sure what you have reserved is still yours. ( And, flex your social engineering muscles and ask for a bigger room or a free upgrade, they can only just say no.)
Bring plenty of cash, because the convention center ATM runs out of cash all the time. MAKE SURE to keep your wallet (or swallet) in your front pocket or bag.
Make sure you rock the Emergen-C a day or two before you leave, help your body get through the flight. Make sure to rock one every morning and every night after the con. You're gonna be in very close proximity with thousands of other people. Perhaps carry of Purel with you, I hate the stuff but if you are ok with it deff bring it.
Bags...Bags bags bags. You will be there buying stuff, and you will need a bag to carry stuff in. If you don't already have one get a messenger bag. Make sure it balances on your back so you don't get all torn up after a day of walking.
As for bags, I have a TimBuk2 XXL laptop back. Its large, balances nicely, durable and I use the laptop sleeve for small things like comics and small prints.
Make sure to bring water and wear good clothes.
So if you're gonna be at Comic Con comment me and we can have some drinks afterward!
