Da-shiong bao-jah-shr duh la-doo-tze! or; Firefly is an ok program

So again another late to the party article. I "acquired" the first season of Firefly, from a few privateers and there place of hiding, kind of a cove of sorts.
First off basic formalities. Good show, steampunk space works western setting. Brings the essence of the hobbled together space universe. Bare in mind I saw the film first, the show is better standalone. The disposable characters are a nice touch. Practically everyone on the show gets shot or brutally wounded.
-----quick sidebar----- summer glau's character River is FREAKING horrible. Worst idea for supporting character. Would be a much better show without her.
The show has this aura about it, reminds me of something but I cant quite put my finger on it........
But here is the nitty gritty to my ramblings. Why it failed.
Show is good, and from what I've read FOX just did a dodgy of promoting it, putting it in front of sporting events and showing the series out of order. The biggest reason it failed was its fanbase. Oh there are a bunch of hardcore fans out there of the show, sending out petitions to FOX and trying and trying to get the damn thing back on the air, but of course the fans fail it.
When the movie came out was the perfect opportunity for it as a franchise to be rebooted, but nobody showed up to the box office! The internet was abuzz OMG THE MOVIE IS OUT LETS GO SEE IT and it was an utter failure. I remember hearing a story about a guy who bought a thousand dollars worth of tickets from a theater to help the cause. It it needs to be helped then its not doing well. Its like Anime and Adult Swim. Everyone bitches and moans when its not on and then when it is nobody watches it.
So people, if you love something as much as you say you do, go support the cause. If you dont then quit your complaining.

I thought Serenity was a really good movie-
I also recently acquired firefly and it is really cool for a TV production Sci-fi series.... i've seen alot of really terrible ones that make me vomit everywhere...
I'm not going to petition for another season or whatever... but if it came out I would definitely watch it.
For what it is, --I think it's badass--
