MMMM, its August and i'm dealing with taxes right this second!
Long story short for my benevolent readers (and you Wolverine) I checked a box on my 1040EZ that wasn't applicable. IE (lol internet explorer) shouldn't have been checked.
So instead of getting a nice $300 dollar cheque in the mail, I am told i owe the IRS $241.92.
So I the revenue services up and I am told to fill out a 1040X (EXTREEEEME) form to correct my error. I fill that form out with righteous indignation and mail that sucker off.
So a few weeks go by and I get a letter saying I owe cash money. So i call em up again and this dude was all "mmmm, just wait a while it takes time for these to go through. Ignore the letter". So, it was promptly ignored until...I got another letter 3 weeks later! So I call up again, they tell me that they just got my form and it'll be a while for it to process.
SO, fast forward to today, month later. BAM! IRS wants to levy my assets. WHAT ASSETS?! So I call them up again, and after a lengthy verification process they answer. Want more verification. Turns out I filled out the 1040X form correctly but the lady said "sometimes they just don't know what they are doing over there"...wow...great internal teamwork there lady. SO i'm filling out the form right this literal moment, well I'm writing actually but I need to vent to the universe.
This begs the question, if they verify me over the phone, enough to divulge privation information, WHY CAN'T THEY JUST FREAKIN' CHANGE THE FORM THEMSELVES!
