So the last post to come from here, was a gigantic lie. I didnt write any new articles in the next few days, and I didnt come back anytime soon!
Heres the deal.
We , as in I and my family, just got internet hooked up to our new house. Most would discern this moment in my life as a celebration! Now I agree having internet is a nice thing to have, but it comes with strings. Many many many devilish strings.
Our old house had cable internet from....the cable company.
Now our new house, is far far away from society. I've dubbed our new lot, the place were information goes to die.
No 3G service out here. No television, hell the god damned cable company doesnt even come out this far. And the only internet I can get here is from the shitty local Telco. The dreaded DSL. We had two (2) options from them.
1 Meg download with 5 Gigs of monthly transfer or
768K with unlimited monthly transfer.
Very distressed I became as I learned of our predicament. We came from the land of free flowing networking. 10 Megs and unlimited data! SO MUCH BIT TORRENT! So I wonder to myself, what should I do? Go for speed or data. The nice lady (BULLSHIT) on the phone said she could give us a special deal/offer. The unlimited for 20 bucks the first 3 (three) months.
We did.
So once I get my router setup for PPPoE, the WORST type of network connection possible, we get screaming.
Updating my torrents, downloading games from steam! It was slow, but it was usable.
A day goes by of full BT downloading. All legal mind you. And I thought, wonder what I did over night, as far as data transfer goes. I log onto the portal page from the SHITTIEST telco in the world, and I see that I did over 10 Gigs in one night.......
.....we're sticking with the unlimited.
SO! Now im back, shaddys back, back again. Im here with information and articles that have been brewing in my head. Any requests for my point of view on certain subjects? Email me or drop a comment.
